Best ND Filters for DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Image
Released in 2016, the Phantom 4 Pro is one of the oldest DJI drones that’s still in use. Considering DJI’s first ever drone was the Phantom 1, the Phantom 4 came with many improvements. While many other drones have been released in the past six years, the DJI Phantom 4 Pro is still viable. Why? It can still shoot in 4K (which is what later drones achieve), has a 30-minute flight time, the aperture ranges from f/2.8 to f/11, and has a larger payload capacity. But even with an extensive aperture range, it also helps to have ND filters. So, which are the best ND filters for the DJI Phantom 4 Pro? PolarPro, FreeWell, DJI, and LENSKINS ND filters are some of the best ND filters you can get for your Phantom 4 Pro. These four models are of the highest quality and achieve the desired effect, and their design doesn’t alter the intended mechanism of the gimbal. Please keep reading to learn more about ND filters for the Phantom 4 Pro. What are ND filters, and what do they do? ND filters are simpl...

DJI Mavic Pro Gimbal Failure (& How to Fix It)

Image
The Mavic Pro came out in 2016 and was the beginning of a new era in the drone industry. The compact drone allowed pilots around the world to take a step outside with their drone in something as small as a backpack. The Mavic line has boomed in recent years, and although there is a plethora of upgrades to the original model, it remains on the list of great drones to purchase. The Mavic Pro houses a stunning 12MP camera with a 1/ 2.3” sensor. It was the first DJI drone to come with a foldable design and one of the first in the general market. This drone was created for recreational use and allowed a massive amount of people to enter the drone world at a reasonable price. There are numerous features, flight modes, and upgrades that make it a great choice for a wide variety of pilots even today. However, it being the first of its kind, there are bound to be problems with the model, one of the biggest being the gimbal. There are a couple different errors that can occur pertaining to the gi...

DJI Mini 3 Pro with DJI RC (Explained for Beginners)

Image
The DJI Mini 3 Pro has been out now since May, so for most of the summer, amateur and pro pilots alike have been putting it through its paces. When DJI announced it earlier this year, it had all the makings of a very good ultralight, do-everything drone. Of course, at times, there can be a bit of separation between the announced features and the real-world capabilities, but not this time. I have already done a deep dive into the DJI Mini 3 Pro’s low light capabilities and active track features (spoiler, it’s really good). Now let’s get into something a little different. The new DJI remote control (RC) is not only one of the most exciting features in the new Mini 3 Pro, but for DJI as a whole, as it is cross-compatible with other drones DJI makes and is also a stand-alone product. One that I think is worth every penny. DJI Mini 3 Pro (DJI RC) Lightweight and Foldable Camera Drone with 4K/60fps Video, 48MP Photo, 34-min Flight Time, Tri-Directional...

High and Deep: Drones Impact Offshore Energy

Image
The Avidrone heavy lift UAV enables ship-to-shore and rig-to-rig resupply operations. (Photo courtesy of Volatus Aerospace.) Offshore wind, petroleum and the power of the ocean itself all fuel the global energy market. Increasingly, companies use drones to inspect, protect and help secure the pipelines, turbines and other equipment that generate these critical marine-based energy sources. Yet the laws and regulations that govern drone use for this critical sector, both in the sea and the air above it, remain as murky as the waters in which they operate. Here, we explore the offshore energy sector, highlight drone applications within them and delve into the regulatory fixes that can take this lucrative market even higher…and deeper. As Michael Hill, regional director for Montreal-headquartered Volatus Aerospace and lead for the company’s projects in this space, put it: “The future of offshore resupply and air cargo is remotely piloted.” LAY OF THE LAND FOR WATER-BASED ENERGY The U.S. De...
