US-based TruWeather Solutions Joins Drone Logistics Ecosystem - sUAS News - The Business of Drones

VIRGINIA, USA- Drone Logistics Ecosystem is welcoming TruWeather Solutions, Incas its latest member to collaborate with existing DLE members to deliver benchmark global weather services for the unmanned traffic management system across the globe. TruWeather brings vast aviation, logistics and weather expertise to DLE. They have repurposed an innovative weather risk management framework that TruWeather team members established within the U.S Air Force Tanker Airlift Control Center in 2001, fielding the commercial uncrewed autonomous and eVTOL communities. The framework reduced the impact of weather by 40 percent for airlift missions worldwide, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of moving cargo and people, while recovering $200M in lost opportunity cost. TruWeather offers the same return on investment opportunity to weather sensitive businesses and industries when weather is a potential threat to business operations.

TruWeather aligns novel sensor and data partners to provide a vertical 360° view of the atmosphere for better airspace management of drones and eVTOLs. Their SaaS platform, TruFlite V360°, provides one-stop-shop customized weather awareness for drone and air taxi dispatch, command centers, airspace managers and operators. TruWeather is setting the benchmark for the weather supplemental data service providers. They lead the ASTM F38 development of weather standards and specifications for the UAS industry, supported by their work under several NASA small business innovation grants.

TRUWEATHER SOLUTIONS INC, CEO, Don Berchoff, said “As a 40-year veteran in aviation and logistics, we bring our expertise and experience to help prepare the industry for Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) operations. We will educate and contribute our ideas for more relevant weather standards and deliver novel weather solutions and services to tackle the toughest weather challenges for BVLOS. Stakeholders share the common thread that weather can be a disruptive reality and increases business uncertainty. We help our clients better manage weather uncertainty and weather-induced costs. The Drone Logistics Ecosystem enables our engagement with operators world-wide to listen and address the challenges they are facing locally for specific drone applications. Combining client insight with TWS’s deep weather knowledge, together, we can safely increase flight time and revenue per airframe with better client satisfaction and business results.”

Drone Logistics Ecosystem™

Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE) is a free of charge, global multidisciplinary “quadruple helix” network of Companies, Universities, Public/Government, and Investors to stimulate innovations, collaborations, and standardisations in the drone logistics industry.

The aim of the Drone Logistics Ecosystem is to bring together stakeholders in the drone logistics industry under one roof to support commercialisation and marketing of products of Drone Logistics members. Since the industry at its inception, most of the companies are early-stage start-ups with limited access to funding, manpower and expertise, making us an ideal platform for companies to lend their expertise for joint-development of products, consulting, or simply as sub-contractors, or for any other format of cross-disciplinary/border collaboration.
